Oral Argument
06/04/09 – 06/04/09

Summary

Case Description: This case concerns the murder of Luis Perez alleged to be committed by Aaron Archy.

Proceeding Description: Aaron Archy (Defendant) appeals his convictions of murder in the first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. Mr. Archy contends (1) the court erred by permitting the State to reference an alleged hearsay statement made within a statement admitted under 11 Del. C § 3507 (2) trial judge erred by limiting his cross-examination of a key State witness as to the existence of drugs and ammunition found in that witness's residence following the shooting.

Outcome: The Supreme Court of Delaware held that the trial court did not abuse its discretion. Court found no merit to Archy's arguments and affirmed the lower court's ruling.
