Summary

In this advertising litigation bench trial proceeding, plaintiff Dekalb County Pension Fund alleged Google Inc and its management of wrongdoing and asked for inspection of books and records related to potential damages from the illegal advertisement of Canadian pharmaceuticals on the Google AdWords platform, due to which Google reached a $500 million settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice in August 2011 over Canadian pharmacies’ use of the Internet giant’s AdWords marketing program to target customers for illegally imported prescription drugs.

The plaintiff was represented by attorney Darren Kaplan. The defendant in this case, Google Inc was represented by attorney Boris Feldman.
