Summary

In this Engle progeny tobacco litigation proceeding, plaintiff Kathleen Gafney Hanners alleged Lorillard Tobacco Co and RJ Reynolds Tobacco co of fraudulent concealment of the dangers of smoking cigarettes manufactured by the company, which led her husband Frank Gafney to get addicted to smoking and being liable for manufacturing defective cigarettes, which resulted in Frank Gafney’s death due to Lung Cancer in 1995 at the age of 59.
The plaintiff was represented by attorneys James Gustafson, Darryl Lewis and David Sales. The Defense in this case comprised of Lorillard Tobacco Co and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. Lorillard Tobacco Co was represented by attorneys William McGuire and Gay Tedder. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co was represented by attorney W. Randall Bassett.
