In Re: Zyprexa

CONCLUDED

Hearing
03/27/08 – 03/27/08

Summary

A series of proceedings involving lawsuits combined into the federal multi-district Zyprexa liability litigation.

The September 21, 2009, hearing involved two issues: the finality of any judgment entered (whether the court would retain jurisdiction), and whether the federal government was entitled to any of the proceeds from the state settlements. According to Special Master Michael Rozen, 32 states had previously settled, and an additional eight state settlements had recently been arrived at prior to the hearing (WV, CT, MN, NM, MT, LA, UT, and ID). As a result, only four non-settling states remained: MS, SC, PA, and AR.
