Summary

In this business defamation proceeding, Plaintiff P.J. Riley & Co. alleged that while working at Logan International Airport as a sub-contractor, the company URS Corporation defamed the plaintiff after the issuance of a ‘stop-work’ order. The counsels of the plaintiff claimed that URS Corporation asked P.J. Riley to continue working on the project after the ‘stop-work’ order was issued on November 7, 2008 but the very next day an executive of URS Corporation called the authorities and falsely accused the plaintiff of continuing work even after the issuance of ‘Stop-work’ order.
The plaintiff was represented by attorneys Paul Murphy, Kevin Smith and Peter Alley. The defendant in this case, URS Corporation was represented by attorneys Thomas McCraw and Jeffrey Allitz.
