Summary

Jury trial to determine the damages suffered by plaintiff as a result of a low-speed three-vehicle collision. The defendant's loaded truck hit a Cadillac Escalade, and the Escalade hit the plaintiff's Chevy Trailblazer.

MRIs taken five weeks, six months, and one year after the accident revealed an annular tear (ruptured disc) at L5-S1, with nerve involvement of the nerve root at S1, which allegedly caused the plaintiff chronic pain in her lower back and right leg. At the time of trial, plaintiff's medical costs were $31K.

The defendant asserted that the collision did no damage to the plaintiff's vehicle, and did not cause any of the plaintiff's injuries. According to the defendant, the CT scan done immediately after the accident was normal.

The jury awarded the plaintiff $2,500.
