Skinner v. Curtis Bay Med. Waste Svcs. GA, et al.

SETTLED

Trial
02/25/25 – 03/03/25

Summary

In this wrongful death, vehicular collision case, the 31-year-old accident victim was killed when her car was struck from behind by a truck owned by defendant employer, a medical waste company, and driven by defendant employee. The accident victim had been stopped at a traffic light at the time of the collision.

The defense admits fault for the crash disputing the amount of damages sought and plaintiff's claim for punitive damages.

Plaintiff , representing the accident victim's estate, seeks more than $100 million in compensatory damages and in arguing for punitive damages contends the employee was on his phone and distracted while driving, and defendant employer never should have hired him, given his inexperience and record of a prior failed drug test.
