In this Pharmaceutical negligence and product liability litigation proceeding, plaintiff Pamela Torrence (personal representative of the estate of Gary Torrence) alleged Southwest Internal Medicine Specialist and its staff which included her husband Gary Torrence’s physician and physician assistant of being liable for suicide of plaintiff’s husband by being negligent in prescribing anti-depressant SSRI drug Zoloft to her husband and failing to warn, supervise or monitor the drug’s intake.

The plaintiff was represented by attorneys Donald Farber and Kevin O’ Connor. The defendant in this case, Southwest Internal Medicine Specialists and other defendants were represented by attorneys Vance Dawson and Jennings “Bucky” Hurt.
